This was my first brand new truck. Maintained it meticulously. Didn't even take advantage of the free oil changes because I'm so particular in quality. Warranty was for 75,000 miles, threw a rod at 79k. Brought it to 3 different mechanics and they all said the same thing. It was "common in this model due to a poor lubrication design". The Jasper motor I bought was reassured to have an upgraded motor that "fixed" the problem as Chevrolet also had in later models. If this is as common as all 3 mechanics say, it should have been a recall. Disgusted, will never buy Chevrolet again. They did nothing for me when I asked. Not to mention I have the same motor in my wife's 2013 Tahoe.
I have a Ford now!
