This problem started out as a problem with a gas odor that got worse caused by gas spraying from a cracked fuel line on top of the gas tank coming from the internal fuel tank module. If the gas would have leaked gas on the opposite side of the tank (exhaust pipe) there could have been a serious fire. The mechanic that repaired this problem told me that he has replaced other internal fuel tank modules with a cracked fuel line leaking gas like mine was.
Since this is not an isolated problem I think that GM should declare a recall for this problem and reimburse me for the repair costs. If not then it will be reported to the National Highway Safety office and let them look into this unsafe condition.
