The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Caravan. While the vehicle was being serviced by an authorized Dodge dealer for unrelated issues, the contact was informed that the clock spring had failed and because of the failure, the driver side air bag and safety horn would not function correctly. The dealer advised the failure was contributed to excessive turning while driving. The vehicle has not yet been serviced for this failure. The failure and current mileages were 73,000.

The horn on my 2006 Dodge Caravan honks spontaneously. This occurs usually when turning right but it has occurred while driving straight. This is an unsafe condition since the honking frightens and distracts the driver and passengers. The vehicle has been taken to the Dodge dealer in harlingen, tx, but the service department refused to work on the vehicle as they could not replicate the problem in the shop.
