Tie rods are not meant to be worn out after 40000 miles. My shop said it was something they'd been seeing on late model Chrysler cars.

Caravan 3.3L

2000 kms. out of warranty and I have not one, but both tie rod ends worn out and the dealership says, sorry, out of warranty! With 62000 kms. (40000miles) who would think they would be replacing tie rods and doing an alignment! This van is the worst of the 4 vans I have had since 1997.This cost me $275.00 and I am not impressed one bit. I am sure thinking of going to a different manufacturer for my next van! Chrysler is starting to suck the big one!
