Caravan 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission

I purchased this 2007 caravan on Mother's Day. It had some minor belt noise, but it had been at the dealer's lot for a while and I thought it would 'just go away.' Instead, it got worse. The van has only a 4cyl engine, but drives well and gets decent mileage. As I drove my 'new' car the belt noise got louder and louder, so I called the local dodge dealer who diagnosed the serpentine belt as the problem, ordered one (which took 5 days!) to come in, and replaced it. For about 3 weeks there was no noise, but then it began again. Again, gradually getting louder. Brought it to the dealer again, this time the diagnosis was that a new alternator was needed. In addition, the AC compressor was bad. FORTUNATELY this was all covered under the warranty, but is this going to continue??
