Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Challenger. While driving approximately 35 mph, the steering wheel seized and caused the contact to crash into a curb. The vehicle was towed to the dealer on several occasions where it was repaired, but the repaired parts were unknown. When the contact retrieved the vehicle, the failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer. In addition, the brakes failed to respond. The contact mentioned that the vehicle could no longer be driven due to the failure becoming worse. The approximate failure mileage was 13,000.

The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the power steering shaft needed to be replaced, but the part was not available. The contact waited until the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 9,102. MA 10/6
