we got a 98 dakota sport and bought it brand new in 98. it now has 70,000 miles on it and the steering shaft has got play in it to the point u can feel it when u drive. had it priced out to fix it and it costs over $400 for the repair.I'm afraid to go to a recycle yard because ill get the same thing, dealer wants $375 for the part and i put it in. never in my life did i have to change a steering column for loose steering......this truck has been a pain in my behind since day 1 but cant afford to keep it and cant afford to sell it
