2005 Dodge Dakota shakes while braking at high speeds 40-50 mph. Easy recall fix (two days without my truck), but they had to dig to find it. Took over a year and six trips to horrible dealer to fix. They changed three sets of brakes and rotors and a locked up caliper. Way to go Dodge! Five Star Service, I'd hate to see the dealers that don't quite meet your standards. I would not bring my bicycle to them for air in the tires.

My 2005 Dodge Dakota shakes uncontrollably on the highway and when stopping. I brought it to the dealership to see what was wrong with it they suggested having the rotors and drums changed. IN A 2 YEAR OLD VEHICLE??? They said yes for a mere $500-$600 dollars (on top of $100.00 they charged me just to look at the truck) Pocket change right?? Not to me! My husband changed the brake pads and tried to change the rotors but they are pressed on so I have no choice but to bring it to someone to fix it. I have 3 major things wrong with my 2 year old vehicles. Dodge wants me to pay over $1,000 to fix everything and I have an extended warranty that apparently doesn't cover anything. I drive my children around in this vehicle and I have an hour commute to work. It has 2 major safety issues. (seatbelts not working properly, shaking and not stopping)and one very big inconvenience its getting 9 mpg of gas. With gas prices today I can't afford to pay the monthly payment never mind fix it. I bought new and keep up with usual maintenance and thought it would not cost me a lot of money for a while I guess I was wrong. Dodge is driving me to the poor house.

Since 2005 when be bought the truck we have completed replaced the entire front end of this truck, bad rotors, cracked brake calipers, tire rod ends, you name it it was broken and we had to fix it. (no warranty coverage for any of those things) We had no explanation as to the reason why all of these things happened and to make matters worse the front-end still squeaks. The rear-end shakes like the whole car is going to BLOW UP!!!! We took it to a friend of my husbands and he found out that the wrong rear-end was put in the truck when the truck was first made. We were told that they will replace the axles but it will cost us $100 for our deductible and Due to the bad axle (that was the makers fault in the first place) they also need to change breaks, rotors etc... (front and back) and that is not covered at all ... we have to pay for it!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? Because of the wrong rear-end it caused all these other problems with the front and back-end and it is still our responsibility to pay!! are they kidding? They should fix the axle and everything that went wrong due to the axle for free and then they should pay us for the aggravation) we have put more than $2000 into this stupid stupid stupid truck!! We will NEVER buy a DODGE again and will most certainly warn people before they do!!! I will buy a scooter or moped before I ever think about buying a dodge again!
