I bought my Dodge Dakota back in 2006 and thought I got the greatest deal on wheels. I was wrong. I have 35,000 miles and am now on my THIRD power steering rack. Yes, THIRD. I see that tons of Dodge Rams have a bad power steering rack record, well I want to let everyone know that the 05-09 Dodge Dakotas are NO BETTER. Luckily, I was covered under warranty, but not my warranty is up, and I am pretty sure it is going to happen again. Apparently the two racks I had to have replaced were leaking at the inner tie rod end.

I also needed a new rear pinion seal at 34,000 miles, and a new intermediate steering shaft.

My father warned me about buying a Dodge Truck, and I should have listened.

Save your money, invest in a better truck, steer clear of Dakotas and Rams.
