As others have reported, the undercarriage has terrible rust. The frame is rusting in layers. The front brake lines even rusted out, lucky I was stopped at a red light when it let lose.

I never seen any car /truck rust so fast ..the frame rails are too thin..there flaking off with rust..every nut..bolt..thats on the truck...are just about rusted away..suspension is rusted so bad..I can't believe it hasn't dropped out from the truck....the bumper on the back on dodge trucks are known to rust out..I might live on the east coast ..and you can say "Salt on the roads in the winter" but there are other makes of trucks here and they have nowhere near the rust as a dodge truck....Even my plastic grill that has metal on the backside is rusted !

The lower door edges have rusted out. Dodge has denied that there was a design or manufacturing defect/problem. All you have to do is look around at the 1999-2001 Dodge ram 1500 trucks (black, burgundy, green) to see the same problem. A lot of effort to fix $$
