Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

I own a Dodge Ram 1500 2003, that is included in the airbag recall, however, after going to the local Dodge dealer I was informed that they cannot replace my airbag because I have a cracked dash. The airbag is attached under the dash, and if they were to try and remove the dash it could disintegrate. So I was very upset when told this, because I have grandchildren that ride in my vehicle, and it has now become a great concern for their safety. Not to mention that I live in Florida, one of the high heat states, that affect these airbags.

Received a recall notice from Chrysler group, llc, notification code P78/NHTSA 14V-770, regarding danger of the passenger airbag rupturing. Called my Dodge dealer in florence Alabama on about February 23rd, 2015 (as instructed in the recall notice) and asked for an appointment to have it fixed. They said that they would put me on a list and had not received any parts to fix the problem. Stopped by the dealer last week to see my status and they said they have not received any kits to fix the airbag and did not have any idea when they would. Does not seem right that I have a recall notice for a dangerous passenger airbag and Chrysler will not provide the parts required to fix the problem. Any help will be most appreciated.

Ram 1500 8-cyl

Back in Jan., I received a recall notice for my 2003 ram1500 about the driver airbag. I think it was notice P40. I took the truck into my dealer, southern Chrysler Jeep Ram and they were supposed to order the parts to fix the issue. I have called the dealer several times checking on the issue and each time I am told that it is a parts issue that Chrysler can't get the parts. It is now May 5th and still no fix. I think that the dealership and maybe Chrysler, think that I will just forget about the issue. I promise that I will not forget. In March, I received a second recall notice for the passenger airbag. I think that recall notice is P78. I am not getting anywhere with this dealership and the service manager. I think 4 months is plenty of time to get the necessary parts in to fix the problem. It sounds like I am being given the run around and stall. God forbid that either airbag system should malfunction and cause me injury or possibly death. I have sent an email to Chrysler today with the same information that I am sending you. I do not like riding around in a truck that may have the airbags explode and cause me injury or death. I just wanted to bring this issue to your attention in hopes that, with your help, this problem can be resolved.
