Beyond the electrical problems with the truck that have appeared over the ownership experience, now my transmission is slipping. When the mechanic flushed the transmission fluid recently, it came out burnt, despite being changed 14 months ago/15,000 miles ago. The slippage is starting to become more pronounced. The mechanic believes that the transmission is probably giving early signs of complete failure.

Transmission started to slip in reverse at approximately 27,000 mile dealer could not solve problem stated it was elusive (mainly because it was intermittent only on really cool days). At 39506 miles slippage became a real constant problem the transmission was allegedly rebuilt. At approximately 45,000 mile it blew up on my way to work in a snow storm with temperatures hovering around 10 degrees. I nursed it off the road manage to back it into a parking space and that was the last it operated. After 30 days on my truck being disassembled in a bay at a local 5-Star Service dealer and many hours of talking sympathetic Indian located through the Country of India, whose only reply to my complaint was "I can understand you're frustration but how can I help you" with my repeated request to get my truck fixed now, I called the dealer and got a hold of the owner he got it fixed with a promise of a "new" transmission but in the end Chrysler changed their mind and gave the dealer a "re manufactured" transmission. At this point my suggestion to anyone buying a 1500 series truck is DO NOT BUY ONE!
