Ram 1500 SLT Quad 4.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 35,600 miles

So I took my truck in to get the front end aligned, after 35,600 miles on my perfect condition new truck, and the dealer noticed that my seat track was falling apart again. I do not even hardly remember how many times this stupid seat track has been replaced now. Short story is that my 1991 Mercury Cougar with over 200,000 miles on it is costing me much less in repairs than my 2005 Dodge Ram with 35,000 miles. Every time I have to take my crapola truck in to get repaired at the dealer (dealer only parts) the dealer tries to screw me and continues to remind me that Dodge really stands by their trucks (not the 2005 but the new ones). They think I should just buy a new one (if I do it will not be a Dodge!!). I am sick and tired of wasting an entire day off getting my truck fixed (for a safety issue). I really wish I could just get my truck fixed once and for all........... NEVER BUY DODGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ram 1500 SLT 4.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 31,250 miles

So this is the second time since owning the truck (3.5 years and 30,000 miles) that my upgraded seat track has broken. This time the truck was over the warranty, by about 1/2 year. Since they closed all of the dealers down that were anywhere close to me I had to drive about an hour to get my truck looked at. The dealer agreed that the seat track was faulty but was quick to inform me that I was over the warranty period. So $680 for a new seat track later and a few days waiting time I was back on the road. The new seat track has around 1/4 inch of play already and I am very worried that the seat will fail again and leave me with another $680 repair bill. I am very concerned about my safety when driving with a possibly faulty seat track. I do not want to be thrown through the windshield while still being seat-belted to my seat. I showed the dealership the play in the seat and he informed me that I was just being stupid and that all of these tracks have a lot of play in them. I am really regretting buying a Dodge.

Ram 1500 Quad SLT 4.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 12,321 miles

The seat track adjustment rod failed in my seat allowing the seat to collapse. This left my drivers seat with close to 6 inches of free travel forward. The dealership replaced the seat track for me and said that it shouldn't happen again. They were quite concerned as to the safety of the vehicle with the broken seat track. They said that I would have surely broken my legs in a collision. Very unacceptable from a newer truck.
