While driving my truck it just shut off, died and would not start back up. This was very dangerous! going 65 miles an hour, in the center lane trying to get over to the side of the road...safely! I tried to start the truck...everything came on as normal, but would not crank. I had to have the truck towed $$. the alternator was replaced $$. truck still would not start. It would not crank, you could hear clicking under the hood and you could hear the fuel pump come on. I was told it was the win module which cost me $870!! (win module and programming) evidently this is a common problem with Dodge trucks. What does it take to have a recall on this part"!! does it take a certain number of crashes or deaths? all in all it cost me about $1500, but it could have cost me my life, my girlfriends life, and possibly people in other vehicles that were driving around me. I have researched and found that other Dodge vehicles were affected with this faulty part and there was a recall put out. There again, I ask Dodge....what does it take to have a recall on this part for Ram 1500 trucks?" I hope that all owners that had or is having this problem to file a report! please! read all the discussions similar to mine on Dodge forum. Again, please report these types of problems, they will not know how may vehicles are affected if it's not reported. You may save someone's life.

The total integrated power module failed and it's a common problem in all Chrysler and Dodge vehicles. That fails the engine runs rough, ac, brake light, turn signal, horn, wipers, stop working and transmission stays in 1st gear. The lights on the das stay on: Brakes, ABS, seatbelt, check engine light and air bag... this is an specially when the module fails while driving in the road. Dealers know it's a common problem but they rather have customer pay for a new tipm.

On March 5, while driving to work, I heard a knocking sound from the engine. Later in the day when driving, the truck would lose power when I accelerated. I called a doge dealership and made an appointment with the service department early the next morning. The next morning, the sound was louder and had less power through acceleration when driving to the dealership. I agreed to have a diagnostic and was later called and told my fuel pump needed to be replaced. I was charged $1,045. When I drove home, the truck stalled out once but I managed to make it home. I had several mechanics including one that worked at a different Dodge dealership listen to the knocking and each mechanic immediately suspected a problem with the lifters. Also, according to each mechanic, this was a common problem with doge Ram truck. I towed the truck to a mechanic and found that the 5th cylinder lifter had froze up and carved a groove into the cam. The mechanic has order the lifters and parts to repair the engine and found a backlog of orders for the same parts. I'm currently having to rent a car. My work requires me to sometimes drive on the highway 100 miles round trip. Fortunately I was not in that required situation at the time of the breakdown.

Check engine light came on with code for cylinder misfire. Did research online what problem might be and seen thousands of complaints with exact same issue. Took it to mechanic and he said lifter failure. Rollers seized up and took lobe off cam. This is the exact same thing I seen on thousands of other complaints online.

So the hemi 5.7 has numerous complaints on cylinder 5 misfire and resulting in major engine work do to the mds system Dodge failed miserably engineering. My truck has 80,000 miles on it and I get it maintaince regularly. Why at consumers having to come out of pocket and it not be recalled yet from Dodge for poor design on this engine.

4th generation Ram 1500 pickups with the 5.7L hemi are becoming notorious for premature lifter failure resulting in damage to the camshaft lobe. These repairs are often occuring just after expiry of cchrysler's powertrain warranty. There are hundreds of cases on online owner forums that present similarly. Chrysler has not sought to remedy the problem with owners. See the following link for dozens of examples from the last few years: Https://www.ramforumz.com/showthread.php?T=188978 major power loss occured at highway speeds and put the vehicle in "limp" mode. The result was a near accident with a large truck as power loss occured while passing on the highway.

The manifold bolts on the 5.7 hemi break sometimes breaks off in the head and are not easily removed. Thus causing an exhaust leak (aka hemi tick). And my truck only has 77000 miles on it. Bought used so no warranty to cover the repairs.

In 2018, yr 2012 Dodge Ram truck, was recalled for the T79 recall. After recall was installed, now truck stalls-goes dead when brake pushed & dies in reverse. After research, it's a major issue w/the 1500's yet there hasnt been a recall. This is a very dangerous situation that Dodge has put the owners in. So when I brake for anything on a hwy, it goes dead! the dealer checks for an error code & yet there is no error code so they cant do anything about it-dependent on computers versus hands on mechanics. Dealer suggested to leave my truck & they'll drive it until it happens which is random. It's ridiculous that mechanics have no real hands-on mechanical ability & depend on computers to provide error codes. After the T79 recall was done, was it required to upgrade/update or refresh the computer system afterwards" dealer said the recall did not call for an computer update as Dodge did not require it. Per internet forums, youtube, & internet, the stalling is a major issue! guess I have to take chances w/this issue of stalls/dying on hwy travel-dangerous! also, the steering wheel has something loose inside of it. It sounds like the airbag has come loose & is moving when wheel turned. Any recalls or word on this" again the dealer plugs in his computer & doesn't see anything wrong even though you can hear it. Dodge needs to be accountable & responsible for all these mistakes-esp since this is a safety issue! also, on the 1st day of purchasing my truck, the pass airbag light remained on. Dealer kept new truck for 6 wks to attempt resolution & ended up contacting Dodge engineering & found out the colored wires were crossed - the colors were interchanged at the factory! amazing & no recall was done. It's impossible to speak w/cust serv at Dodge Ram- someone that is knowledgeable.

I have a 2011 Dodge Ram. I had to mark 2009 because my year want in the options. I have replaced my fuel pump twice to find out I have a bad tipm. My fuel pump won't shut off even when the truck is off causing a dead battery. Windows roll up and down on their own, truck losses power out of no where, and door locks won't work sometimes. I've spent a few thousand to try to get this fixed just to learn it's the tipm.your options won't allow me to check the proper boxes

Driving down the road and the engine shuts off.....randomly happens - extremely dangerous...happens on the highway too. No recall or anything on this issue........why is this not a high priority......a class action lawsuit won't do families any good when a life or several lifes are lost.....please make this a top priority. Thank you.
