We bought the truck from James Oneal Chrysler in Bremen, GA. We had only had the vehicle for 6 months. When we took to have the transmission fixed the guy told us the transmission had been worked on before. James Oneal Chrysler sold us the truck never mentioning that. We were lied to and I highly suggest that you think twice before buying a vehicle from them. They were also very rude and would not even work with us.

The transmission does not shift out of second gear unless you let off of the accelerator completely and the press back down on it. The transmission makes a grinding noise and banges when it shifts into overdrive. The overdrive off switch is worthless if you are going over sixty miles an hour since it puts the engine beyond the engine redline. The truck cost 47,000 dollars and has been in the shop every month since it was purchased. The dealer says there is no cure for the problem currently. When I contacted the District Service Manager for Dodge I was told " We know there is a problem. You will have to be patient and get used to the problem. The problem has been present now for over eight months.

After I had the truck brought in under warranty for the out of park alarm recall, the truck did not want to shift out of 1st gear unless I really increased the RPM,s. This only happens when the truck is hot (normal running temp). It happened while under warranty, but the dealer could not duplicate it and told me to bring it back when I could duplicate it. I was able to duplicate the problem by getting it hot and going from reverse to drive. This is the only time it would happen. I brought it back to the dealer (Grapevine Dodge in Grapevine Texas), and they told me sorry, you should have brought it in before the warranty was over! The truck was slightly over the warranty period when I brought it back to them with the same problem. I believe when the truck is hot, it still thinks its in reverse after you shift from reverse to drive. When this happens, I shift back into park and the problem goes away. The dealer was no help at all and very rude.
