Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. 2002 GMC Envoy. Consumer complaint for GM side impact airbag sensor system. Consumer states that this system does not deploy the airbags if the vehicle hits a tree, utility pole or other narrow objects. Lawyer wrote in on behalf of the consumer. The consumer was involved in a heavy side impact crash in which his vehicle crashed into a steel pole precisely on the drivers side door that caused catastrophic and permanent brain damage. The consumers lawyer suggested that GM issue a recall for the defective side airbag sensor.
