I was picking a friend up from the airport and went to put his luggage in the back, closed the tailgate / liftgate and it appeared to be shut. The door-ajar light was on, so I went back to look at it and the gate went down fine, but wouldn't latch properly. I hit the unlock/lock buttons several times and got a screwdriver to pry it into the open position and then shut it and it locked. Hasn't happened since, but I double check now every time I shut it to ensure it latches.
