This car is only 7 years old and problems already. I made an attempt to turn the window wipers on and I hear the motor, but no movement.

The bushing broke for a second time, a couple months after replacing it. I had to buy a new linkage system this time.

Driving in the rain, on the interstate and the wipers stopped moving while in an up position. I could hear the motor working. I could not see and had to pull over for almost 2 hours before the rain let up enough to drive again, but not safely because it was still raining and getting sprayed, though I could see a little. The bushing on the linkage broke and a friend fixed it for me the first time.

This was a very dangerous situation ESPECIALLY because the rain was falling so forcefully and I was on the highway headed to church... I had to wait 90 minutes for a tow provided by the warranty service in cold rain in the dark by myself!! NOT the safest thing to do... I have NO IDEA what I'm gonna do tomorrow getting to work...what an inconvenience to only have had this car for barely 2 years.

Okay, well, today I'm heading out for an appointment in the pouring rain. I get about a half a mile from home, and the windshield wipers completely stopped working, and were frozen in the middle of the windshield. Grateful that I was in a residential neighborhood and could just turn around and go back home, because I was headed to a major highway (I-95). Unfortunately, I had to reschedule my appointment. Due to the time that it happened, I have to wait until tomorrow to have the problem addressed.

The reason I've decided to post a complaint is because today is the 3RD TIME this has happened to me in the last year while driving in the pouring rain!!! This is EXTREMELY dangerous as you have little to no visibility in front of you while driving.

I've been driving for over 30 years, had numerous vehicles, and have NEVER had any vehicle's windshield wipers just stop working while in use. For this to have happened 3 times now is unacceptable, and a HUGE safety issue for me. Oh, and by the way, the weather forecast is showing rain for the next 6 days!!! I'm not happy at all, and will be looking to get rid of this vehicle for my own safety.

Driving on the highway during a rain storm and the wipers completely stopped on me. I had to pull over and push them back down to get them off the window. After doing some research I see that the 2013 Terrains were recalled due to this. Later on GM recalled 360,000 more Terrains thru model year 2016. I contacted GM and was told my vehicle wasn't under recall and that I should take it to a GM dealer to have diagnosed...

Clearly I already know the problem and won't be paying dealer costs to have it fixed. We will tear it apart ourselves and replace either the motor or the relay in it. I was just hoping that GM knowing it has been an issue would have listened a little better to my complaint.

My wife was driving home from night school on rural roads during a thunderstorm. The windshield wipers just suddenly stopped working. You can hear the motor running trying to move them but the seemed to be disconnected from the motor.

Update from Oct 5, 2021: I later found out that there is a silent recall for this problem. GM knows it has a defective part and will replace the Windshield wiper assembly for free for 15 years on 204-2017 Terrains/Equinox. If you already paid to have the problem repaired they will reimburse you if you have a receipt.

While driving down the highway in the dark rain and snow this morning, my wipers stopped working in the up position. Not only was this dangerous, but was a hazard in heavy morning traffic with rain, snow, and spray all over the highway. This is an extreme life hazard, as I could not see anything and had to pull off to the shoulder of the highway with traffic moving at 75+ miles per hour.

The GMC Terrain is a nice vehicle and up to this point, pretty much trouble free. Driving in a rain storm on the interstate and the windshield wiper on drivers side stops working. Wiper arm appears to be loose from wiper motor as it can be moved back and forth by hand, passenger side works perfectly. There was a recall on this same problem with the 2013 models, mine is a 2015, same issue, but no recall.

It was raining pretty hard and I was picking my daughter up from school and all of a sudden the wipers stopped working. It was pretty scary because I couldn't see very well and I had my child in the car. Thankfully her school isn't too far from my house and we got home safe.

I've read a lot of complaints about this exact same thing happening to other people with a 2015 GMC Terrain, and can't believe there hasn't been a recall. God forbid if someone has a wreck and dies because their wipers stopped working in the rain - will they recall it then?
