Rear hatch/lift gate has no manual handle to open. When unlocking power locks rear hatch will not open, there is no way to open lift gate from inside or outside of vehicle. If an accident would happen there would be no way out of rear of vehicle. Rear hatch will not open at all, it is all electronic and will not open. This is a common problem for all GM SUV's. have contacted GMC and they don't seem to about issue.

The contact owns a 2007 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that the headlights would fail intermittently. The vehicle was not repaired. One month later while driving approximately 15 mph with the radio activated, the radio stopped working, the air conditioner stopped blowing cold air, and the instrument cluster lights were flickering off and on. In addition, the vehicle started to vibrate abnormally. The vehicle later stalled and was able to be restarted and taken to the dealer. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure and there were no repairs. She had not contacted the manufacturer. The failure mileage was 42,000 and the current mileage was 42,030.

While driving the vehicle, heard a clicking/cracking/popping noise, smelled a strong odor of smoke and burning smell from the front passenger side underneath the glove box area. At the same time the widows, mirror, and electric locks on the passenger side of the vehicle would not operate. I stopped the vehicle and turned it off. I started looking down under the glove box area and could still smell a very strong burning smell coming from that area. Also the vehicle would not restart. The vehicle was towed to my local auto repair shop. The mechanic observed the same burning smell conditions and removed the wire box underneath the glove box passenger door area. He observed that all the wires were burnt, to include the metal plate that was burnt and charred from an apparent electrical fire. (pictures were taken of the area to include the burnt wires and charred metal) the mechanic stated that we were very lucky the whole car did not catch on fire and burn up. He showed me the damage and stated that where the wires run through a small hole in a metal plate appeared to rub through the wires causing it to short out and actually burn the wires and metal plate. He further stated that a rubber washer or using rubber instead of metal might have prevented the burning/fire.

The check engine/service stabilitrak/engine power reduced light comes on frequently yet the GMC dealer cannot pinpoint the problem. Potentially a connection to recall of cars equipped with heated windshield washer fluid feature. Did detect a slight odor shortly after using the windshield washer fluid and the indicator lights started flashing and the car slowed down considerably on the highway during inclement weather. Thus far nothing has corrected the problem; we are hoping to get the car back to our home state so the dealer can work on resolving this hazard.

The contact owns a 2007 GMC Yukon. While driving at highway speeds or lower, the transmission shifts very hard. There is also a harsh pounding sound coming from the transmission. All of the electrical components on the instrument panel failed. The dealer changed the crankshaft sensor. While driving, the contact cannot tell when the gear is in neutral. The speedometer displays inaccurate speeds and the air bag light illuminates. The plastic on the window fell off and the front driver's side door handle sticks when it is pulled, and will not go back in. The contact hears a rubbing sound coming from the steering column. The instrument panel cluster has been replaced and the check engine light would remain illuminated. The current mileage was 29,000 and failure mileage was 10,229. Update 09/10/08 the lug nut caps were missing, the check engine light was on. The gas cap was not sealing. The dealer replaced the gas cap. Updated 09/15/08.

II have had my 2007 Yukon since Sept 2006. Approx 3 weeks ago I began to have trouble getting the vehicle started. When turning the key, it had to be held for about 20-30 seconds before it would finally crank up. Vehicle has been taken to dealership 4 times and is currently still there. I have been told a variety of reasons for the way my car starts that it is a normal "extended start", that they cannot duplicate my problem, and that the vehicle was just programmed that way. I know they have heard the problem because the service manager stood by me while I cranked the vehicle to demonstrate the problem! if the car had a normal "extended start" or was programmed to strat like that it should have been doing it since I purchased the vechile in Sept 06 on not just starting to have the problem now in June 07.
