I was satisfied with the fix and the way the dealer handled the matter.
Update from Mar 6, 2014: Sixteen months later (4-29-13 at 31,644 miles) the struts were leaking and needed to be replaced again. This fix was also covered under warranty. Then nine months later (1-30-14 at 48,154 miles) the struts failed for the third time. The dealer and GMC are holding firm to the 36,000 mile warranty limitation and ignoring the obvious problem of why would their factory part on a $50,000+ vehicle continue to have problems.
Comments from the dealer that "if I had my vehicle serviced by them (ie. oil changes), I might get better consideration" and failure of Corporate GMC to return calls three times during the six week period it took to try to get them to see this was a problem from the beginning, have really soured me on GMC. No wonder American auto manufacturing is having a hard time competing. Now I will try after market parts and hopefully fix the problem once and forever.
