Clutch failed after 40000. It was driven carefully, shifted according to manual. That a clutch would fail so early is shocking.

The clutch should not have failed this early. It was not slipping or showing any signs of failure and suddenly one day it just went out. I was told by the repair shop it failed because the inner spring broke due to the poor quality of the clutch. I was also told that this type of failure had nothing to do with the way the car was driven.

I am the original owner of the car and I've been driving a car with a clutch for 35 years. I have never had a clutch fail on me. I for sure did not expect it on a car with this low miles.
