I had been driving the car for approximately 7 minutes; had made a couple stops and several turns, prior to the incident. From a slightly rolling stop at a 'T' (a yielding, not stopping, intersection - in Germany) in the road, I pulled out to turn left. My car failed to continue accelerate, first with the pedal pressed approximately half way down; then, as a mini van was approaching from the left, I pressed the pedal all the way down, but it still did not go. A collision was caused by my car being in the wrong place at the wrong time. The car failed me in that way; but I must also say, the safety features may have saved my life.
Minor 'complaints' I suppose I could mention: The A/C never worked very well; the seats are not very comfortable (but I LOVED how you could convert/fold the back seats in a variety of ways); and the paint job wasn't very resilient.
I had researched and bought this car based on a few factors: good fuel economy, safety, a little bit of spunk/character, and was within a workable price range for my financial situation at the time. The car fit the bill in all those areas.
