The Fuel gauge completely disappears making it difficult at times to determine how much gas is left in the tank. This gauge also displays maintenance issues when it is time to perform certain maintenance on the vehicle. This is an intermittent problem, and can occur any time of the day, often when starting the vehicle and can last up to 20 minutes. This occurs most frequently during the winter.

There have been many complaints online (if you google 2015 Honda Fit display issues), about this problem with photos taken by other owners.

I have sent 2 complaints to NTHSB about this issue, but no response. When I took the vehicle in to the local Honda dealer to have the problem fixed, I was told it would cost in the vicinity of $1000.00.

I think that Honda should recall these vehicles and pay for the repairs.

I would like to give this vehicle to my grandson, but hesitate because of the safety issue,

The LED panel display which includes gas mileage, gas tank level, miles per gallon, trip miles, oil change time via percentage, etc. began to flicker, went out, came back scrambled and sometimes returned to normal with heat. The problem was definitely worse in the winter months; however, it sometimes flickered and came back on with the vibration of driving or even pressing the reset button several times. It has begun to stay off longer. It also comes on again less frequently. This is a significant problem because it is the only display for gas mileage. No matter how attentive one is, it would be easy to not guess correctly on this one. The lack of a display is also perilous as it leaves the owner to guess when to have the oil changed. On this one issue alone, I would not recommend buying the FIT.

Update from Sep 23, 2023: To fix the intermittent display problem, I followed the advice posted online:

Remove entire display unit from dashboard. I recommend removing a bit more of dashboard components than seen in video.

Resolder circuit board leads from LED.

Reinstall entire display. Reinstall dash components.

I resoldered and reinstalled the display and everything looks like it is working again. However, I will need to test it thoroughly through the cold winter to be sure.
