the "S" light in the dash board keeps on turning on and then the engine light goes on as well. once this happens you feel the engine is weak (almost stalling) and sometimes it shuts off

Im in Japan stationed on Naval base, and i bought a 93 honda prelude. I have only had the car for a year and have had so many problems with it. I had the alternator, spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, changed and the car keeps dying out on me. It will be fine for 3-5 miles, then my engine light will come on including the 3 red lights on the dashboard which include the battery. I have had everything checked and again they say nothing is wrong with my car, which matter fact there is. After a while trying to start, my car will turn on and be fine, but again will die out. If anyone knows what could be wrong please let me know ASAP. thanks !
