Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety. Notes: The 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe apparently has a problem with the engine stalling while driving.

In a 2-page letter to Santa Fe owners from August 2014, Hyundai claims the engine stalling only occurs under a "specific set of operating conditions".

However a class action lawsuit filed around the same time details multiple claims from Sante Fe owners that claim the engine stalling happens at any time, under any conditions.

Although the model year range in the lawsuit is 2010-2012, the stalling complaint trend hasn't shown up in our data for the 2010 model year. Both the 2011 & 2012 Santa Fe model years DO show a significant defect trend of the engine stalling.

Currently we're not rating the 2010 Santa Fe as "bad" or "poor". Just be aware of this potentially serious problem.

Brake pedal cannot hold pressure, creating dangerous situation in emergency braking. Brought car to dealer on November 29 for warranty repair. Dealer found master cylinder has internal leak. Replaced master cylinder and re-bled the system.

Santa Fe

Vehicle stopped on incline of a hill, then reversed (gear shift in drive) back down 600 feet the hill and crashed against a concrete wall corner. Have 2 witnesses that switched off the engine, inspected wreck, found no fault codes with a launch 431-reader but figured that battery was drained after 2 months. Surviving daughter suffers from memory loss but at the time of the accident claims the brakes failed.
