Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety. Notes: The 2008 Veracruz has a minor trend of complaints where the valve cover leaks oil onto the alternator, causing alternator failure. The problem starts with the battery warning light & typically all the other warning lights coming on in quick succession. Luckily, that problem was covered in a 2014 recall.

Overall, It's a solid reliable vehicle with no major problems reported.

The contact owns a 2008 Hyundai Veracruz. The contact was driving approximately 50 mph and noticed the brake transmission shift lock indicator illuminated until the engine was turned off. Whenever applying the brake pedal, the brake lights failed to function; however the brake lights remained illuminated after the brake pedal was released. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign id number 09V122000 (service brakes, hydraulic: Switches: Brake light) but the contact was informed by the manufacturer that the VIN was not included in the recall. The approximate failure mileage was 62,300.

Hyundai has brake and rotor issues and won't do anything about it..the vehicle off the lot had rotor problems had them shaved then replaced and they were worn out within a year.. they can offer this 100,000 mile warranty because the consumer pays for brakes everytime they step foot in dealership.. if you search internet you will find brake issue with all vehicles from Hyundai.. they will not do anything about this problem.. cheap material on vehicle!
