In fall of 2021 I was made aware of a new recall (NHTSA 20V-705; Hyundai #197) for my 2012 Hyundai Veracruz due to oil leaking from valve cover gasket onto alternator - causing shutdown, fire, etc. This recall is a recall of a previous (Nov 2014 NHTSA 14V-415) recall repair that apparently did not fix the issue the 1st time. I took my car in to the Hyundai of Kennesaw dealership in Kennesaw, GA and they gave me an appointment to come back and get the inspection done. The inspection completed finally Nov 2021 found the repair, indeed, needed to be done. Although I was told when I scheduled the appointment that "the parts are available", at the time of the inspection they said they had "to be ordered." Despite many phone calls across the past almost 9 months, I am repeatedly told that "the parts haven't come in." I am afraid to drive the car, afraid that a fire might ignite while it is parked and have never been offered an explanation for the delay nor the use of a rental car.
