Recall 02I002000 concerning ABS brake failure. Consumer contacted the dealer in October 2003 for recall repairs. Dealer indicated to consumer that the parts were not available. Consumer recently contacted the dealer again, and dealer stated the parts were on national back order.

While driving on the freeway at 35 mph the consumer noticed an accident ahead, when she tried to stop, the brakes completely locked up which caused her to rear end the person ahead of her. A few months later the consumer received information about a recall being issued for the brakes on the Isuzu Rodeo' S, the consumer hopes that Isuzu can give financial assistance due to the defect. It was raining. Went to stop at the intersection of scott blvd and N. Decatur going at approx 10 miles an hour. The brakes would not work. I released and tried again and there was nothing. Hit the truck in front of me. The module for the ABS was replaced in April 2003.

Consumer received a recall notice on November 5/2003 concerning ABS brakes. The ABS problem on certain sport utility vehicles that were equipped with an anti-lock braking system (ABS), the vehicles could experience extended stopping distances in certain types of braking events. Dealer stated the recall was on back order. One must wait, we didn't' have the part yet. But on December 11, 2003 consumer had a collision due to brake failure.

Dealer denied it. 10 months after the accident, consumer received a recall NHTSA letter 02I002000 concerning ABS brake failure.

The anti-lock brakes failed to properly engage allowing the car to roll forward. There were several incidents where on slow stops, the anti-lock brakes failed to properly engage and allowed the vehicle to roll forward. The problem was intermittent. The master cylinder was replaced, however, the problem recurred. Refer to recall#02I002000. The consumer was told that there was no existing recall.

Brake failure occurred while driving at 10 mph. The consumer applied the brakes with regular soft pedal braking when the vehicle slid forward beyond the normal braking point. The consumer had to brake three vehicle lengths ahead. The ABS light was intermittent. The ABS light came on when the consumer had to brake on any bumpy or uneven street, flat surface, or downgrade. The consumer slid into the bumper of another vehicle that stopped unexpectedly.
