They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. The contact owns a 2010 Jeep Compass. While driving approximately 2 mph, the vehicle accelerated independently and drove over a curb. As a result, the contact crashed into a pole. The air bags did not deploy. The contact sustained a minor injury from the seat belt, but did not require medical attention. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 28,000.

The contact referenced NHTSA campaign id number 13V233000 (air bags, electrical system, seat belts) and was advised by the dealer that the vehicle was no longer eligible under for the recall remedy although the vehicle was included in the recall. The dealer performed a point check inspection however, the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 38,000.
