Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

The contact owns a 2011 Jeep Compass. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16V668000 (air bags, seat belts); however, the part for the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated the horn, which was located in the same area as the air bag, failed. The approximate failure mileage was 98,000. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

Jeep dealership in Virginia beach, tried to install recall software, however would not fix problem. The dealership said it was my problem and needed to pay for a new ocr module (400.00) since my Jeep will not let the install of the recalled software be installed. I've call Chrysler, they've assigned me a case number. I've called back daily and I keep getting the run around. They insist a supervisor will be calling me. Nothing after a week and a half. This is a safety issue and I can't get any help from Chrysler/Jeep.

Involved in side impact vehicle collision on passenger side of my 2011 Jeep Compass. Side air curtain did not deploy resulting in my wife being knocked unconscious and suffering a concussion from hitting the passenger door glass. Impact was to her door and should have set off the air bag system and avoided her injury.
