I had a Ford F-150 4x4 with electronic controls on the wheel. I put over 350,000 miles on it without any problems. I take care of my vehicles. This Jeep is babied with all maintenance completed by the manual. I like to drive it, but I am on the second steering wheel change and I had to replace the engine at approximately 87,000 miles. I used synthetic oil, and Top grade gas and oil additives. The engine started drinking oil. no leaks, no blown head gaskets. The Engine drank 3 quarts below full on a 500 mile trip. I replaced the engine out of pocket $5k+ Extended warranty wouldn't cover it. Now I am on the second steering wheel replacement.

My only vehicle at the time. Had a Dealer wait of three weeks for part and repair. I bought the part and paid a Certified Auto Mechanic shop to install the steering wheel while I waited. The repair worked very well for 5 years - but now it is happening again.
