The contact owns a 2010 Mercedes-Benz C300. The contact heard an abnormal grinding noise coming from the sun roof. The sun roof ceased in the open position without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the sun roof assembly was replaced. The local dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The failure mileage was 44,641.
Notices of recall; scheduled with dealer and never received a call back to replacement. The call smells strongly of burnt plastic since I bought the car. Every single car maintenance person tells me the car emits that smell.
