My 2010 e 350 sedan has a fuel smell I have found to be a cracked defective fuel filter that was in recall for 2009 down but they stopped the recall at 2010 on e350 sedans , I called the dealership here in Austin texas and they said I was the second person this month with the same year e350.

Update from Oct 4, 2016: Mercedes will not do a thing to help and they know its a common problem until someone gets hurt

After filling up the gas tank, drove the car with windows open and went straight home. I did not notice anything unusual until I parked the car and closed the windows. I then smelled some gas fumes and thought I over filled it. I checked the gas cap for tightness and walked around the vehicle to checked for leaks, nothing found. I checked again after 4 hours because of the gas fumes going in the house, still no leaks but the smell was unbearable and giving us headache so I decided to drive the car and parked it outside. I complaint to mbusa.com about this problem, her advice is to make an appointment to the nearest MB dealership. This is a safety issue that needs corrective action. Dealership appointment at 8am tomorrow 9/15/2016.

Update from Sep 27, 2016: Dealership technician found fuel leaking from sensor. Fuel pump and filter assy replaced. I filled the fuel tank again to make sure. I did not smell any fuel, I would say it was fixed. Everything was under warranty.
