Summary
In our continuing efforts to assure the proper performance of Mercedes-Benz products and to enhance the satisfaction of our customers, Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is extending the warranty coverage for the pressure sensor in certain Model Year (MY) hybrid vehicles listed below from the original New Vehicle Limited Warranty of 4 years/50,000 miles to 15 years/150,000 miles, whichever occurs first, due to the following issue: The pressure sensor installed on the fuel tank or on the fuel filler neck might detect an electrical error as a result of contaminated fuel, which could cause the check engine malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) to illuminate. Please note, the error can only occur either on the tank or on the filler neck pressure sensor. It cannot occur simultaneously on both sensors. Please be advised that all repairs being claimed under this extended warranty must have a Quick Test uploaded with the following fault code information and may be audited. P1B9D28 Pressure Sensor on filler pipe. P045128 Pressure Sensor Tank. All repairs found to be functioning properly or without proper documentation will be returned and the claim debited in full. Only the following damage codes and parts may be claimed for the aforementioned repairs: Damage Code(s): 47147 Pressure Sensor, Fuel Tank Part(s): A 000 905 59 04 Pressure Sensor (To tank) or- A 000 905 89 16 Pressure Sensor (Filler neck) Please note that damage incurred from abuse, accidents, vandalism or other non-warrantable causes that are not covered by the New Vehicle Limited Warranty are similarly not covered by this Extended Warranty.
