Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

I lost control of the steering and the car crashed into a curb before I could apply the brakes. This occurred approximately an hour after I picked up my car from Liberty Ford dealership for repairs done in response to recall number 13S08 - steering column shaft and customer satisfaction program number - 14N01. The steering bolts came out of my steering wheel while driving my 2005 Grand Marquis. Nothing led up to this situation - there was no warning. Had I not been going on a 25 mph 2 lane road this could have been catastrophic. Instead, I ended up half way in a ditch blocking the right hand lane of traffic. I was told from my dealership, kingsland Ford Mercury located on highway 40, per the service manager monty that this was a result of the manufacturer and my car came off the line that way. I have contacted customer service and of course the dealership and there is no recall to my knowledge about these steering bolts.
