And here we are again, with the 2008 Hybrid Mariner. 2 WEEKS after purchasing the Hybrid Mariner from an individual, the Anti-lock brake light went on, and as a result, the vehicle would not come to a stop when needed. It seemed to "roll past the mark", which is extremely dangerous. This vehicle has a post-factory installed conversion which provides gas and brake pedals on the right hand side, although the steering wheel is still on the left. We are wondering if this has anything to do with the brake problems we are having.

I don't believe there was a recall on the brake system. There most likely were not enough for the cost/benefit of a recall. So, this one I lay 100% blame on the private party that sold us the vehicle. She MUST have known about this issue, since it appears to go on and off on a whim within 2 WEEKS after purchase.

We were told that this was going to be thousands of dollars to fix, and it is not covered under the extended warranty that we had purchased.

This Mariner has been a royal pain in the butt!! All we wanted was a safe AWD vehicle for my husband to deliver mail, and now we have a $18,000 paperweight sitting on our driveway.
