The air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that a wire under the driver's seat was broken. The consumer was told that as long as the light remained illuminated the air bags might not inflate in the event of a crash (part # 3L2Z-14B455-aa).

Airbag light comes on, flashes goes off, comes back on. Dealer recognizes problem and has designed a robust electrical harness replacement but refuses to cover costs. This re-desing of the electrical system for the proper functioning of the airbag restraint systems was first recognized by the manufacturer in 1999, the date of the vehicle. The NHTSA bulletin number is SB610933. Please help!!! this is a serious safety issue and concern for not only myself but the saftey of my children.

After starting vehicle air bag light failed to turn off. Would remain on continuously while vehicle is being operated. Would flash a code first when light comes on. Been to dealer twice & mechanic could not locate cause of problem.
