I bought my 2010 Mini Cooper S used on March 30, 2018 from Butler Kia in Medford, Oregon . Took it to the dealership at the end of June, 2018 for it's 90 day checkup & oil change. Dealer never informed me of any oil leak problems. Changed the oil and replaced a part on my windshield washer dispenser that was broken. I started noticing an oil smell shortly afterwards. I thought it was from the recent oil change.

On September 26, 2018, I drove the car to Silverthorne, Colorado to pick up my son. It took 2 days to get there. When I got there, the car started smoking and had a bad oil smell.. My son checked the oil and it was down 3 quarts. Put oil in it. Drove back to Prospect, Oregon, (took 2 1/2 days), checking the oil levels frequently.

I took the car to a mechanic, when I got back to Oregon to check out the problem. He stated that it was an oil leak around the O-rings and possibly the oil cooler pump may be cracked as well. Charged me $45.00 for the diagnosis Gave me an estimate of $500.00 plus the cost of the oil pump to fix it. Called him back the next day to set up an appointment to have it fixed. He said that he didn't want to work on it. No reason given. Just to take it somewhere else. He said it would be ok to still drive it. The oil leak keeps getting worse. Had the oil changed again in November. There is now oil all inside the engine compartment, oil leaks on the ground, still smokes occasionally and is now in my coolant fluid.

I am on a fixed income and do not have the funds to have it fixed. I believe the person who traded the car in at the dealership knew about the leak.

I also believe that the Kia dealership that sold me the car knew about the oil leak and never disclosed it. The car was sold "as is". No kind of warranty with the car. That should have told me something right there. Don't want to drive it unless I absolutely have to. Don't know how much worse it will get.
