Fuel line rusted suddenly and of course started slowly leaking, was able to fix problem with a nylon gas line from

gas tank Renu www.gastankrenu.net this is meant to be a short term fix but has held up quite well so far.

Only problem I have had with my G5 was both the fuel supply line and fuel vapor return line both rusted inside the metal wrap behind the driver side rear wheel well. I did my research and discovered this is a major and numerous issue with G5s. This is a major safety issue. I replaced the damaged line with an after market repair kit from a fuel tank repair shop. In my opinion, General Motors should be responsible and do a recall to fix this issue!

It had a serious rust problem, rear wheel well panel held in rock salt and water, fuel lines never stood a chance. I replaced them with nylon and rubber hoses, metal couplings and compression fittings. Only like 45$ and a couple hours. Not covered under recall or extended warranty. Would have cost around $1,000 from multiple garage estimates.
