i BOUGHT THE CAR IN 2008 WITH 28,000 MILES ON IT. I FOUND OUT THAT THE PREVIOUS OWNER WAS SOMEONE WHO OWNS AN AUTOMOTIVE BUSINESS RIGHT NEXT TO MY MOTHER'S BUSINESS SO I THOUGHT HEY THIS CAR WAS TAKEN CARE OF. AT 50,213 MILES THE HEAD GASKET BLEW. THAT MEANS I ONLY PUT ABOUT 22,000 MILES ON IT BEFORE THE ENGINE GAVE OUT. I PAID $16,000 FOR THE CAR AND THAT'S ALL I GOT OUT OF IT. REALLY? I KNOW EVERYTHING IS MADE DISPOSABLE THESE DAYS BUT COME ON. A CLOSE FRIEND WHO IS AMAZING MECHANIC DID THE HEAD GASKET REPAIR FOR ME FOR COST OF PARTS ONLY BECAUSE HE KNEW I WAS HAVING SOME MEDICAL ISSUES THAT WERE EATING UP MY PAY CHECKS OTHERWISE IT WOULD HAVE COSTS ABOUT 3 TIMES THAT MUCH.

In Aug. 2014, my vehicle began to overheat while out of town. I was running about 70 MPH on the interstate, when my car suddenly shut down and I had to coast to the side of the road. Waited about 30 minutes for it to cool off, then made it home (about 45 miles). Took it to a GM mechanic and was told a head gasket had blown and due to " driving while too hot", some of the heads had warped. He put a sealant in to do a temporary fix and a new thermostat in. He said it may last up to a year, but I would need to either consider trading or have a new engine put in. This week (12/24/2014), the engine began to overheat again and was left stranded on the road again. Had to do another "temp fix" until my new engine comes in. I cant really afford right now to trade, so it seems like it would be cheaper to replace the engine with a new one than to buy a new car. This could have really caused a major accident on the highway for me and my children. Mileage on this problem was 142,000 and costs $836.99 to fix. Also, in in 2013, my key ignition locked my key in and would not release, while running. My husband had to come to my office and use a screwdriver to get the key out. Had to replace the ignition. $72.00 to fix.
