It's a well-known problem for Volvo owners. Overtime the wires in the harness separate. You can still open the truck manually but you cannot use the remote to open the trunk. If you are skilled enough you could rewire the harness. I am not skilled enough to do that. I did not get it fixed - I just deal with manually opening the trunk.
