Pretty good car so far. Everything is expensive to fix. This latest thing is that both the instrument cluster stopped working - LCD gauges and the speedometer, tachometer, fuel and temperature gauges all crapped out. At first, half of the LCD numbers were evident, with the needles not working. Now, the everthing on the dash is dead. Lights for the dashboard working but nothing else. A long time ago I had a similar incident of dead gauges with the phrase "PIN CODE" showing up in my LCD display. The tech said that a certain number of key cycles would fix it, ie turning the car off and on like thirteen times. I am hoping that this is either just a fuse blown (I read that the AC power adapter can only handle 20 amps, where most cars can handle 30) or that key cycles will reset some weird swedish thing. Barring those miracles, I am guessing it will cost a bazillion dollars since it is out of warranty. Almartin Volvo in Burlington Vermont are nice people, but they utterly screw you on service prices. I will probably seek a solution elsewhere soon since I don't know how fast I'm going or how much gas is in the car.
