Chrysler Recalls 24,000 Durango, Grand Cherokee, ProMaster Vehicles
Dodge Durango, Jeep Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, and Ram ProMaster recalled for host of problems.

— Chrysler earlier this month found out the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration was investigating if a previous large recall had failed, and now some of the same models have been recalled for different problems.

Dodge Durango, Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Grand Cherokee

Chrysler is recalling over 6,100 model year 2014 Dodge Durango, Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT SUVs because of cruise control problems.

Chrysler says when the cruise control is engaged and a driver presses the gas pedal to increase speed, the vehicle might continue to accelerate after the pedal is released.

Chrysler first learned of the problem in April and told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration all the SUVs have the problem. However, there have been no reports of accidents or injuries related to the defect.

The recall should begin this month and will require dealers to update the cruise control software. The Dodge Durango, Jeep Cherokee, and Jeep Grand Cherokee recall number is P31.

Ram ProMaster

Almost 18,000 model year 2014 Ram ProMaster vans are recalled because water around the in-floor battery cover and door footwell trim could cause all kinds of problems.

Chrysler says the water could cause a circuit to corrode and disable the air bags, brake lights, turn signals, backup lights and the door locks. A little seeping water could even cause the van to stop moving forward or cause problems with the rear-view camera, rear window defroster, and the parking brake.

The recall is expected to begin in July, 2014. Dealers will search for corrosion in the footwell areas and repair the connectors. A water barrier sealer will be applied on the floor and a special grease will be applied to all footwell connectors. Further, the body plug will be replaced and the in-floor battery ignition fuse will be relocated.

That's a lot for dealers to repair and Chrysler didn't say how long you'll need to wait for the dealer to finish your van.

The Ram ProMaster recall number is P32.
