The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Colorado. The contact stated that the key failed to be released from the ignition switch. A certified mechanic was contacted and confirmed that it was a common issue with similar vehicles. Jim ellis Chevrolet located at 5900 peachtree industrial blvd, chamblee, ga 30341, 678-736-8582, was contacted and informed of the failure. The contact was informed that the drive shaft and steering column needed to be detached to fix the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the repair was not covered under warranty. The approximate failure mileage was 42,000.
