Well, The Shake when braking was starting to affect my driving because it was getting pretty violent. The Dealer Turned my rotors to try to straighten them out and they went below spec, so I have 2 brand new rotors on my vehicle, and no more shake when braking.

Dealer stated that there were 'hot spots' on the front rotors. sasid that is caused by 'riding the breaks' Came back from VEgas last week end thru the Cajone Pass. One long steep hill. Never have this problem in any other car or van that I have owned and driven over the pall in the last 14 years. Not a happy camper.

Impala XLT 3.9L

This condition could have had grave results under heavy breaking at high speeds with a wet surface. The car shimmed extremely violent to the point that steering parts could have broke and lost control. This is my wife's car and since she drive it and not me she said it has been going on all of the time and thought it was the road.
I would suggest all owners get on a straight road and brake hard from 65 mph to a stop if there is no shimmy your ok but if you feel the wheel shimmy and car shimmy as well you have a problem and it will only get worse and dangerous. GM really needs to look into this and do a possible upgrade to something more heavy duty, this is a real safety issue and drivers may not know what is going on like my wife.

The car only has 19000 miles and the rotors are warped. When I asked how that can be I was told due to quick or sudden stops. SORRY - I don't do that. I'm not a tailgater so I don't have that problem. Is there something going on with the quality of the rotors?
