I have a squeak in the steering wheel hub which is getting progressively louder. Didn't take in to dealer immediately because it was a minor annoyance. When I finally took it in to dealer in April, 2011, after warranty had expired, shop diagnosed as failure of rack and pinion system. I had car in two times during warranty period, beginning at 10,000 miles, for popping and clickin noise in front end. On both occasions service advisor said they couldn't duplicate noise, but on second visit they replaced the intermediate steering sector free. It quieted the front end down temporarily, but I have to wonder if the rack hasn't been bad all along.
I have owned maybe ten or twelve Chevys in my lifetime and I love the way they look and drive, but I will never buy another one!
