Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 25 mph, the ignition key released from the ignition switch and the vehicle stalled causing the contact to crash into another vehicle. A police report was filed and no injuries were reported. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the front wheel was jammed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 72,000.

The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled. In addition, the contact stated that the key failed to turn in the ignition on several occasions. The vehicle wad taken to the dealer several times but the failure was unable to be replicated. The contact received notification for NHTSA campaign id number: 14V355000 (electrical system ) and stated that the part was not available to complete the repair. The dealer did not provide a specific date for when the part would become available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was unknown.
