After driving 700 miles(for a trip) the traction control stabilitrak warning indicator came on and reduced my engine power the

engine light is on also the traction picture light is on, I feel this is very dangerous since it controls your car. I have had many Chevrolet and never had problems with more miles than this..I will take it to a mechanic and see what it costs to fix, but wont drive. A very inconvenience. They need to fix this problem as I was looking it up it goes back to 2013 and I am sure father thats when I stopped reading about this problem.First the reduce engine power message illuminated and the engine reduce power. Then the other messages came on. I notice there was a recall for the throttle-position sensor which can cause the malfunction-indicator lamp and/or engine reduce power message to come on, but do not know if this is the same thing.

I also did notice what seemed to be a burning smell.

While driving on the Xway my car suddenly drops speed in the fast lane. Then my dashboard starts flashing engine power decreased, stabilitrac off, service stabilitrac soon, and the engine light comes on. After I almost caused a major pile up, I get off the x-way and get myself together. By this time I'm scared to drive the car the rest of the way home. At home we look up and find that this is a major issue with Chevy cars. I had Autozone put my vehicle on their sensor, which showed the same results that others have received. A long grocery list of things that need to be replaced at great expense

I've called my local Chevy dealership and they claim there are no recalls for my vehicle..even though they have received numerous complaints on the same issue. My question to Chevrolet is..how many people have to get hurt or die before they make a voluntary recall for this? Ready to take this crap and dump it back on their lot.

Service stability trak, Service traction control, & Engine power is reduced all comes on more frequently. 1st time was in 2013, got scared and took it to get it look at, auto repairs saw no problem. Most recently, engine shut off and pull to side of road. After a 2 hr wait, car started up again and work all normal. But the lights are coming on almost every day and the check engine light comes on. The lights are getting annoying and hopefully its nothing major, but would like these lights to go away or have a recall about this problem.

My transmission failed, stalling and randomly jerking, especially when stopped at light or any stop (to turn or waiting for light). The transmission is still under warranty, but instead of replacing the whole transmission with a new one, they keep having to order parts, which never correct the problem. Since Aug 27th I have had my car a total of 1.5 weeks..Its been back for the same issue and needs to be returned tomorrow for a third time. It has spent the most of Oct and half of Sept at Lou Bachrodt and 2 weeks from Aug 27 until the end of the first week in Sept.. then went back the end of the second week of Sept and I just got it back Oct Wed 21st. Now its going back on Mon Oct 26...I'm paying for a car that does not work!!!!! I'm as very VERY frustrated.

2011 Impala LTZ - July 6th, Stabitrac needs service, engine losing power - $600 charge from dealership. August, less than 1000 miles later, same error code, September, same problem. Now October 19, less than 600 later - same error codes - Dealer can't figure it out - this is the 4th time back. If not repaired, will consider lemon law suit, or sell to dealer!

Update from Oct 21, 2015: Dealer found that the PCM unit was defective. Replaced and replaced wiring harness. We are keeping our fingers crossed.

This is the second time this issue has happened, with the worst event being yesterday evening on 2/17/2015. I was driving up a mountain (Taylors Ridge) at approx 65 MPH and the electronic display panel displayed Service Stabilitrack, then Engine Power reduced by half. Suddenly my car lost all engine power and power steering locked up. Luckily I was able to jerk the wheel hard enough to swerve over the lane of traffic beside me and off the side of the road at a slow roll. The back end of my car was in traffic, because it would no longer roll up hill. I was almost hit by a logging truck before I could get out of the way. I cut the ignition switch completely off and let it sit for a few minutes. It cranked right up on the first attempt, but the engine light remains on at this time.

I see there have been several other complaints with the same problem. This could have been a very bad situation for myself or other drivers on the road if traffic was any heavier. This issue will be reported directly to GM, and hope they will step forward and address this problem before someone loses their life.

It will be fixed in the next few days. With only 60,000 miles on this car, I have had my share of additional problems as well. When bells started going off advising me of problem, which is good, it really was frightening. It also alerted me to additional problems with wheel hubs, which I will send in another complaint. This is in addition to the battery exploding problem which I also will address in another complaint.

I have never had so many problems with a car. I have previously owned two Malibu's and never had such problems. Before that we have had mainly Oldsmobile's and was sorry they no longer make this car. I will begin looking for a new car and will not be returning to the Chevy's. This problem with the Accelerator Pedal was one I never even heard of. This is what caused the Engine loosing power according to the Chevy dealer repair service. They did a diagnostic on the car and this was one of the two problems. Very expensive to fix. With the wheel bearing repair, it was going to cost over $750 dollars to repair and I have to wait over a week for the repair to be done.

I have a 2011 Impala LTZ 3.9l with just over 51,000 miles. While driving the DIC says service stabilitrac and reduced engine power. The dealer tells me it's the throttle body and it's not covered under the powertrain warranty ANYMORE. I stress the word anymore because it was covered under the powertrain warranty on models to 2009. This is the same part number from 2006-2012 that is having this problem. Nice job GM, you realize you have a problem and you stop covering it. Way to treat your customers. This same part on the trucks fails also but GM extended the warranty on that one. Anyway, for those of you having this problem you can buy a throttle body on ebay and install it in about a half hour, (less if you know what you're doing).
