Chevy s10 pickup has been the worst nightmare i have ever owned.you would think with so many people buying Chevy cars or trucks that the company would stand behind what they are selling.think again.they could care less once its out there doors.about 9,000.00 dollars later i am going for yet another transmission. 4th one.every year it seems im putting another one in.it started about 34,000 miles and now at 86,000 i cant spend another dime.i wish i knew how to solve this nightmare.

We bought this truck with 38000 mi on it thought it was a nice ride, But the moment it broke 70000 mi I started feeling a chunking in the transmission, I took it to a shop and they wanted $2000.00 to fix it... wound up driving it 3000 miles and one day trying to go to the store BAMMMMMM!!!!!!!!! Lost reverse, then noticed no 2nd, or 4th.... and my bank account is $1300.00 lighter. I hope this replacement lasts longer. I like the truck but hate to make payments and repair costs in the same month. The sun shell and sun gear stripped teeth.

I had to replace the transmission after 53,000 miles and I only had a 50,000 mile warranty. This cost me $2200 dollars. Now I am at 110,000 miles and lost the trans again. It seems every 50,000 miles or so I need a replacement. Any ideas???

Unbelievable the vehicle needed a new transmission. The vehicle was supposed to be the the best S-10 trim, more like a beast.

Defect in the sun gear. I was out of town on business when all of a sudden my tranny made a horrible noise and I lost 1st 3rd and reverse. I limped to the nearest dealer to get it looked at. When they told me I needed a new transmission I about sh*t. I only had 53000 miles on the thing. The dealer found a manufacturing defect in the sun gear that caused it to fail, stripping the shell. I talked them into just rebuilding the transmission, saving me a couple hundred bucks. I placed a call to Chevrolet about what the dealer had found but they insisted there was nothing they could do to help me with cost because it was out of warranty. When I presented evidence of a manufacturing defect they simply stopped taking my calls. I have family that works for GM but I don't believe I will ever buy one of their vehicles again.
