Silverado LS 8.1L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 35,000 miles

Engine stalls mostly at idle then won't start for about a minute. It's starting to happen almost every day now. I took it in to the dealership and they could not find the problem except for a fault code for the 'camshaft alignment sensor'. It was replaced with a new one but the problem continues. The only thing I can think of is that if you pull the fuse for the door dinger, you cannot start the engine. The starter turns but the engine won't fire up just like when this problem occurs. When the fuse is replaced, everything is fine.

Silverado 2500 HD 8.1L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,000 miles

Truck will suddenly shut off with no warning at highway speed or in stop and go traffic. Very intermittent. Will crank but not turn over. Wait about 60 seconds and it starts up. Will happen 4 times a week or not at all for 3 weeks. First dealership said there was nothing they could do unless the truck was brought in while broken. Next dealership has had truck for 1 week now and cannot find the cause. Help!
